Dolfinarium – the perfect day out during the summer holidays

A day out? Spending your summer holidays in the Netherlands is so much fun! At the Dolfinarium, for instance. Visit us for a wonderful day out with the children, with friends or with the whole family. And, because the Dolfinarium is all about the wonderful aquatic world, it is your go-to zoo to visit during the summer holidays. An unforgettable outing for the whole family! Will we be seeing you soon?

Why should you visit the Dolfinarium during the summer holidays?

A day at the Dolfinarium is (splashing) fun for all ages. You get to meet dolphins, sea lions and other unusual sea creatures, such as crabs and rays and sharks – which you can even pet! But there is so much more to do. How about catching one of our enchanting shows? Or discovering all sorts of things about our residents at our educational areas, the Shark Bay and the Dolphin Brain. At the Dolphin Brain, you will learn more about bottlenose dolphins, what they eat, where they can be found and how they live. At the Shark Bay, you will discover everything about – you guessed it – sharks! And they’re not nearly as scary as you might think. In fact, sharks should be more afraid of us than we should be of them. How all of that works can be discovered at the Shark Bay!

Water Fun (Waterpret)

After watching all those dolphins, sea lions and walruses splashing about, there is of course only one perfect way to end your day and that’s by taking a plunge into the water yourself! That’s convenient, because our water ride Water Fun is open during the summer! Children over the age of three can splash about here as their parents watch from the lawn and enjoy the sun. So, make sure to bring your bathing suit!

In the water with dolphins or sea lions

Do you want to make your summer holiday truly unforgettable this year? At the Dolfinarium, you get to meet our animals up close and personal. Get a wet smooch from one of our California sea lions or get into the water with our dolphins. You can also just have your picture taken with them, of course.

Can you have fun at the Dolfinarium with bad weather?

Of course! The Dolfinarium is also a great place to spend the day when it’s raining. A number of shows are covered, and you can watch the dolphins and walruses underwater in the cosy – and dry – Onder Odiezee Café. Watch the movie by Wally & Wiep in the theatre, then explore Wally’s home. Shop at one of the souvenir shops, or enjoy a hot meal, tasty snack or refreshing drink at one of the many restaurants.

Looking for an inexpensive day out during your holiday?

What could be more fun than spending a day at the Dolfinarium together? Going to the Dolfinarium at a discount, of course! How lucky: if you buy your tickets online, there’s even more of a bargain. Moreover, you won’t have to stand in line at the ticket office, which means even more time to plunge into the Dolfinarium.

Opening times during the summer holidays

This season, the Dolfinarium is open from 15 February until 25 October (only weekends in March, but every day after that). So, you can visit during the summer holidays as well as the other school holidays and public holidays. Check our opening times here. When will we be seeing you?
